I’m looking for the cheapest possible cell phone plan. I live in an area that has no coverage, so it’s mostly for when I go to town… if I’m lost, need to call my husband to see if he needs something from the store, etc. I want something for emergencies, and maybe a little more. I won’t use it everyday, but maybe three days a week, for a couple minutes each day. Some “pay as you go” plans seem outrageous – $ 1 per day you use it, plus 25 cents per minute. And, you have to have a minimum amount on your phone, and it doesn’t roll over the next month if you don’t use it. Is there a better plan out there?

Well first off, no pay as you go plan rolls over to the next month. For instance virgin mobile, you have to put $ 20 on it at least every 3 months to keep it going. The $ 1 per day you use it I have never heard of, but the 25 cents per minute I have heard of and ya that would be the best think to do is if you arent really gonna use it.

You can im not sure about bell but some companies have a 1 year contact to data plans for smart phones you would have to call them to find out. The blackberry data plan will def cost more/month tho

We were in the checkout line at the local Walmart and the guy ahead of us had 4 pay as you go cell phones he wanted to buy. The checkout clerk told him she could only sell him 2, that it was against the law for her to sell him 4, and she called someone to put the other two back in stock. I asked her why it was against the law, and what law that was, and she mumbled something about parts in those phones that terrorists use. I told someone about the incident and they said it was a bunch of garbage because they have those buddy plans and you can buy as many as you want. So, my question is, has anyone heard of such a law? We live in Missouri.

I’m afraid you can’t really find a phone that can’t connect to the Internet.

Well you can get one of the cheaper phones from Virgin Mobile. It has 300 mins for calling every month, unlimited texting, and unlimited web.

Tracfone is a prepaid plan- recharge every 2 months or summin, however it charges you .3 mins for every text you send OR receive. And there is a browser, however it charges you minutes and none of their phone hav a big enough screen to support it well so no one really uses it plus th speed and all— horrible…

Ummmnmmm try Net10 or Boost Mobile. They might have simple phones that may not have browsers.
